I am 21 yrs old.
Have been playing guitar for about two years.
The time period I have been playing doesn't affect my abilities at all.
I just got back from King of The Blues at 3rd place in Wisconsin.
I can learn new songs rather quickly and have wrote little pieces here and there as incomplete phrases of songs.
But, I am not looking to form a COVER BAND.
I am looking to create a new type of sound through what I play.
I cannot do it on my own however and need a group of people to play with.
I just recorded some simple practice clips of just the guitar on my website.
They are not the best of my abilities by any means. They are just quick posts I did in about an hour to give an idea of how I sound.

The main thing I always try to push is that I can't read notation.
I've never had to because when I hear notes I have the ability to Feel what I play.
I want to go out and play through what I feel, not notes on a piece of paper. I already have this ability, but, playing guitar with no words or drums would confuse people.

Though I play an assortment of different instruments I prefer to play guitar. I am into all sorts of different genres: jazz, indie, math-rock, post-punk, industrial, jam, alternative, ambient, emo, metal etc, etc, anything original i can appreciate. I enjoy music with a lot of dynamic texture, slow and quiet then progressively getting louder and faster with a climax. I also enjoy more chaotic less structured music. Music that still has coherence but can wander off into newly undiscovered territory that may have never been achieved without trying something new and unique. I am very passionate about what i do musically, finding that chemistry with those who have a similar outlook has been a vigorous endeavor that experience has shown takes both time and patience. I would like to experience a jam with as many different musicians as possible until my hunger for creating music is satisfied with the best possible match. Well, I have been playing guitar for six years, I also play keyboard (I'm certainly more adept with a synthesizer than with a piano, though), I also dabble around with the bass guitar and with some conga drums and such. I am a huge fan of Dispatch and of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and I also really enjoy bands like Dave Matthews Band, Incubus, Led Zeppelin, and groups like that. I like to think that I'm pretty open-minded with music, the only real genre I can't handle is screaming metal (stuff like that, at least). I enjoy acoustic music as well as electric-based music, and I play both the acoustic and electric guitars. I think my voice sounds a lot like Chad Urmston from Dispatch, but I'm not sure how I feel about that. I try to keep my style unique to me and not like anyone else's. I really enjoy rap music as well, I listen to artists like Ludacris, Jay-Z, Outkast, etc. all the time. I would say my musical style is kind of a funky acoustic-rock, and I have a natural talent for fitting into whatever style the people I'm playing with happen to have. I love just playing music with people and jamming out, it's my favorite thing in the world.

I am not a seasoned veteran, but I have played out with various projects when time has permitted. Last group was a 5 year run as lead vocalist and guitar player for the Reg Hot Horn Dawgs, (a Blues Brothers style 12 piece horn band) which I named and was a founding member.

Todd's current project is called Twenty Aught Eight, which consists of posting a new song to his web site and his myspace page every week for a year between 1/14/08 and 1/12/09. During the project, the songs can be downloaded for free from Todd's site and they will also be available for purchase on CDs. Each collection will document a quarter of a year and will have 13 songs.
Prior to Twenty Aught Eight, he released 5 CDs independently, starting with Even My Shoes got the Blues in 1999. Reflections followed in 2001 and Here I Stand debuted in 2004. In 2007, Todd released two albums simultaneously.
My Blues consists of 20 selections from his first three albums that were rerecorded in order to better serve as an introduction to his earlier work. These songs were chosen based on consistent audience reaction and also include some of Todds favorites.
Live, Love, Learn, Sing! is made up of 14 brand new songs that are all deeply personal with diverse subject matter than includes life, death, love, suicide, persistence, self awareness, and fate. The lyrics find a way to provoke thought in the listener, often managing to do so with a dose of humor. The music successfully blends elements of blues, folk, rock, bluegrass, and country, forming what might best be called Americana.
2007 also saw Todds return to what he does best - playing live music, where it continues to be his goal to move people on an emotional level, drawing on his deep, resonant voice, tasteful guitar work, and a storytellers knack for interacting with and entertaining his audience.

(heh heh) can collaborate like crazy and probably know at least half of your material already... and if not I will work on it cheerfully and accept your polite criticism without pouting... in other words I am a professional and if you need a hand occasionally or want to start something along the lines of anything that I mentioned, drop me a line. I play guitar and sing and write the songs. We are currently looking for two female vocalists: one who also plays bass or cello, and one who plays lead guitar (preferably in the Spanish style). Musicality, playfullness, and character are more important to us at this stage than training and experience, although we welcome those as well. You must be addiction/cigarette free. This band is open to all races, ages, abilities, gender preferences, and nationalities. We use many musical genres: folk, rock, country, theater, and dance music.
Several months after a stroke, I started waking up with entire songs in my head, now seven years later, I have recovered my health, and I have over 3 hours of original music. I believe that feeling is healing and the best music makes you feel something. I am out to start a band and record a CD before the end of the year.

I grew up listening to a boatload of music from the 70's. The first concert I ever went to was a KISS show back in December of 1977. Judas Priest was the opening band - what an eye-opening experience. A bare-bones, 3-piece, Ludwig, was the first kit I ever owned. How bare bones was it? Kick, tom, snare - and one crash cymbal. And let me tell you...The J. Geils Band's Love Stinks song sounded epic on this kit. I've owned a Tama, and (now) a Pearl set since - and have a few more drums, and cymbals, these days. Self-taught - I always had a keen sense of rhythm. Also, my air guitar solos are unreal. Some (mostly) likes and not so much...Bun E. Carlos...less is more. Neil Peart...more with more. Terry Bozzio...less with more and highly overrated. Tre' Cool - rock on. Jeff Campitelli - the metronome. John Bonham - is THE man. Keith Moon - what a looney, but he could play like the dickens. Steve Smith - don't stop believin. Phil Collins - can play AND sing. Alex Van Halen - bring back the roto toms/dragon drums. Dave Grohl - who woulda thunk. Stewart Copeland - can play and talk your ear off. Matt Cameron - some great beats and is rock solid.

We are a live act! We record every show and put them out for release on disk by the next week. We travel, sometimes over 6 hours one way for a show. The band provides 3-1/2 hour sets with no breaks and no stops. The train comes by and people just get on. HI, my name is Ilse, and I am a 22 year old university student living in Madison.
I have played the trombone since I was 9 years old, with years of orchestra and jazz bands. I started playing the piano when I was very young but gave it up eventually for the guitar. I am still a beginner on the guitar, but I love it, and enjoy playing the accoustic. I also love singing, whether it be lead or back up harmonizing vocals.

2006 Been playing about 35 years in bands ranging from rock and metal to folk and acoustic music. Currently working on a bunch of solo material in both acoustic and electric format to be released??? Fall 2009 Back to playing and doing benefit gigs to get back into it!
Currently (Spring 2010) recovering from my latest injury to my hands, very nasty frostbite, which occured during winter. Chomping the bit to get back to playing music and working on the solo CD. For now I'm hoping to be able to start hand rehab in April 2010.

To be honest, I have really high expectations of myself and my peers, but am also really laid back and just want to have fun/play good music.
I'm transferring to UW-Madison next fall, and would love to start a Radiohead cover band or something along those lines and start playing live shows. However, I'm obviously open to other suggestions too, I just want to have fun.

Since this is my profile page, I'm very diverse when it comes to music. I like just about anything that pleases the crowd. Yes, I like crowds and I like working the room and the crowd. I love the interaction that takes place and I believe this should be a priority for any band --- please the crowd! I also think it's possible and necessary that the band be satisfied (musically). Oh, I almost forgot, I really enjoy the true friendships that are made as a result of the whole process.
I live in the Madison, Wisconsin area and I've worked with a couple of bands in the area. Prior to moving to Madison, I was the lead singer and acoustic guitar player (front man) for a successful, yet local, band in Central Wisconsin. For over 11 years, I acted as the band's booking agent, I owned the main sound equipment, and I truly enjoyed performing country / rock, and classic rock in many different venues. I'm excited to get something fresh started (although it would be nice to join an established band).
I enjoy singing lead, as well as providing background vocals, I play acoustic and electric rhythm guitar, I play a little rhythm on mandolin, and I enjoy writing songs.

Matthew Root has been playing guitar for over 25 years. Devoting 5 to 8 hours a day to practicing in the early days helped develop a diverse style that encompasses Classical, Jazz, Progressive Hard Rock and Blues. I've been a musician since before I can even remember. I started with piano, and switched to percussion/drums when I was 9. I've been playing drums ever since.
I studied in a music conservatory for a year after high school, and decided that the classical route was just not my bag. I still love listening to it though.
I've been focusing heavily on guitar lately, and have a few solo songs written. I'm truly a drummer though, and I will always be a much better drummer than anything else. Rhythm is my specialty. I can pretty much play any style, any day of the week.

My name is Derek Ramnarace and I recently moved to Madison from LaCrosse. I have toured constantly as the lead singer/ guitarist for the band Hooch since 1999. I have been booked to every major festival in the midwest including Summerfest, 10,000 Lakes Festival, Feel Good Festival, Campout Roots, Grateful Garcia, Newpalooza, Blottopia and many others. I have performed with tons of national acts, traveled to many points around the country, performed at tons of national clubs and recorded a few albums. I've had the opportunity to learn and work with Grammy winning producers and engineers over the course of my travels and I'm looking to start a new project here in the Madison area.
I am leaning towards an acoustic folk/bluegrass sound but with obvious influences in rock, reggae and blues to be fused into a more modern folk sound. Think Ray LaMontagne, Josh Ritter, Sufjan Stevens, Amos Lee and Bright Eyes.
I have tons of original music already written that I have not performed or recorded with any other bands. I am open to collaborating with other songwriters. I have many venues and opportunities lined up for gigs all over the mid west. I am willing to stay fairly local but would love to travel around if it works with everyone's schedule. Priority number one is finding like minded people with the right energy and ambition to make music with!!!

John Masino from Madison Wisconsin: guitarist/vocalist/songwriter John Masino was an intricate part of many popular midwest bands such as Baby Fat, Chunky Pie, Punch, Hi-Fi, Powerplay, Masino, The Rage and Neptune. He also appears on the Gregg Clemons album on CBS Nemperor Records and has worked as a studio musician in New York. John was also a semifinalist in The 1999 Jimi Hendrix Electric Guitar Competition that was held at B.B. King's Blues club in Memphis, TN.

I am an experienced guitar Instructor and I want to invite your KIDS or you to discover the amazing world of the guitar. Playing different styles and thecniques in an enjoyable enviroment that makes the learning experience fun and valuable.
Classical Guitar
Students will learn how to play classical finger style, playing simple melodies, scales, and basic chords while exploring the logic of the fingeboard through timeless classical tunes. This program include a free workshop where the student interac playing in emsemble (depends the number of students enrollent per semester).Ask for your free trial lesson.
Electric Guitar
This class offers a comprehensive approach to the electric guitar. Students will understand the concept and particular techniques in the use of the electric guitar. They will learn Blues, Rock and famous riffs from different periods. Ask for your free trial lesson.
Fee: $ 75 per month (30 minutes lesson). You will received a discount if you pay the whole semester in one full payment
