The typical piano student is taught note-reading, rhythms (counting), dynamics and other music notation, posture, finger position and technique - for starters.

Students interested in learning music theory (how to read music) work through a theory workbook that includes ear training exercises. All students are given Assignment Sheets, on which Ms. Fisher writes instructions and key points discussed in the lesson that are helpful reminders when practicing at home.

I treat every guitarist as a potential pro, so topics like improvisation, songwriting, arranging, and recording are common during lessons. In the Madison/Stoughton area I can be reached through J.B. Music, and in the Janesville area I work in a home studio, complete with technology that enhances the learning experience. Rockwell Rice - Guitar

608-692-6506
galecerdo AT hotmail.com  (Replace AT with @)

Rockwell Rice began playing guitar 15 years ago. Since then he has gone on to earn a B.A. in music from UW Whitewater where he studied under George Lindquist, and a Master's degree in Guitar Performance from UW Madison where he studied under Javier Calderon. Rockwell has taught many different styles of music to many different levels of guitarists. His classical training as a musician has lead him to the philosophy that teaching should focus on making true musicians out of students, not just guitar players. Students will not only learn the mechanics of playing guitar, but also the theory behind the music they are playing which will give them a fuller understanding of the music, and instrument. I teach on the west side very near to the beltline. Feel free to contact with any questions you may have.
